1000 words exactly, pg, blaine/mike friendship, set in-between blaine and kurt’s solos. because I went to bed thinking about bike chanderson, and woke up to this gifset, and have far too many feels, apparently.
Blaine’s not quite sure when he and Mike became friends, but he’s glad they did. Because, sure, everyone may like Blaine, just like Kurt says, but when it comes down to it, they’re all really Kurt’s friends. He’d been close to Rachel during the play, but now she and Kurt are besties once more, talking about NYADA and New York every waking second of the day, and it’s just really starting to hit him. That he’s going to be stuck in McKinley next year alone, with people that aren’t even really his friends.

Kurt inwardly shivered as he huddled outside the music building on the OSU campus. It was officially the latest he’d ever been on campus – almost eleven – and not something he would do for most people.

When Burt walks past Kurt’s room again, it’s quiet. The post-it notes lay on the bookcase, forgotten, and Kurt is in his pajamas, sitting cross-legged in the center of his bed, scrolling through his iPod. His headphones are in, his face lined in concentration. Burt knocks softly on the doorjamb, loud enough for him to hear through the music but not loud enough to startle him. He jumps slightly anyways before looking up at Burt and pulling out an earbud.

Notes A fill for this prompt. There’s a minor spoiler for 3x15 (a character’s name/who he is, that’s it) and I should probably warn for predictable endings and cheesy reused dialogue. Thanks to suchalilyofthevalley as always.

Kurt stroked Blaine’s arm idly as he half paid attention to the living room TV. It was two days after Valentine’s Day and Blaine had just returned to school that morning. He was exhausted, Kurt knew, the routine of classes and homework and glee practice tiring for someone who’d spent the last few weeks holed up in bed. But Kurt also knew Blaine was stubborn, and perhaps a bit claustrophobic from being confined to his bedroom for so long, so he didn’t protest when Blaine suggested they watch mindless TV in the living room. Finn and Rachel were sitting at the kitchen table, furtively whispering, and Kurt just didn’t have it in him to try to figure out what they were talking about.
“Dude, there are ducks on the bottle. Totally safe for animals. You’re gonna help me, right Blaine?” Finn asked as he walked over to the back door.
